On one of their expeditions the dragon children Mira, Feo, Luna and Diego discover an unusual sparkling treasure: a column of ice with sparkling stones frozen inside it.
They want to take the treasure back to their cave. But unfortunately, the column of ice is too heavy. The only thing they can do is to melt it. But breathing fire isn't as easy as it sounds. Instead of fire they only manage hot air. Then the four of them have an idea: they'll get their dad to help.
And it works! Dad's fire breathing starts melting the column, and little by little the sparkling stones start falling out.
The dragon children quickly collect the valuable treasures, and take them back to their cave.
With a little luck even dad will get a few sparkling stones! Which dragon child will collect the most sparkling stones in their cave by the end of the game?
Swift delivery as a present for a friend. Like us, they love this game and their 4-year-old has been playing it non-stop since before Christmas!
This is a fun beginner board game for little kids. Practice turn taking and the thrill of collecting gems. Cute art work and nice components. Perfect for young players age 4 -8 but my 9 yr old likes to play it with friends when they come over. The gem collecting keeps the older kids interested while the game play is simple enough for younger kids. I’ll probably buy this game again as a gift for nieces and nephews.
I thought it was time to introduce the kids (6 & 3) to boardgames other than Snakes and ladders, ludo and other roll and move games where only luck prevails. Dragon’s Breath is a great introductory game to the much wider world of board gaming. Very colourful and attractive for kids, my girls love all the gem stones. The character pieces look great. The game can be played at a couple of different skill levels, you can pick a gem colour to stick with throughout the game or you can pick a different gem colour each round (that’s the strategy), the skill comes in when you have to remove the ice layer to let the gems fall on to the board, do it carefully enough and you can let more of your stones fall while keeping your opponents ones in the stack. It’s a good fun game and there’s always a bit of pantomime when daddy dragon melts an ice layer. Brilliant game and excellent service as always from Boardgamer.
