Once Upon a Time is an award-winning storytelling card game that encourages creativity and collaborative play.
One player is the Storyteller, and begins telling a story using the fairytale elements on her Story Cards, guiding the plot towards her Ending Card. The other players use their own cards to interrupt her and become the new Storyteller. The winner is the first player to use all her Story Cards and play her Ending Card. The object of the game, though, isn't just to win, but to have fun telling a story together!
This third edition, published in 2012, features multiple changes, including new artwork by Omar Rayyan, a new card set, and a simplified rulesheet.
Great game lots of fun
We mainly play board games with our kids, and they love this. Gameplay is simple, you take your hand of cards and have to make up a story using the words on your card. Also you are giving one ending card and you have to steer the story to match your ending. A player stops when they either get stuck or someone interrupts them. This can be acheived one of two ways, by having a card that matches what the storyteller has just said or by playing an interrupt card which matches the type of the card they just played. The winner is the one to get rid of all their cards first, but the real fun is not in winning it's about the journey. Great fun had by all the family, and the kids imagination runs wild. Highly recomended
